Make Use of Apple Butter in the Cabinet!
Did you pick up some apple butter at an Apple festival or other festival recently? If you are like me, you likely have more butters and jellies than you can use quickly. All the varieties of apple butter are just too tempting to pass up! If you need apple butter, Amazon has tons here!
Luckily, my awesome Mother-in-Law, Mama E, has shared her delicious, Fried Apple Butter Tarts recipe. This recipe is perfect because you only need a few ingredients. Check out the recipe below for an easy treat using ingredients you already have on hand…
Fried Apple Butter Tarts Recipe
Yields: 4 Tarts
Ingredients:
- 2 to 4 tablespoons of Apple Butter
- 1 tablespoons of sugar ( if your Apple Butter is not sweet enough)
- Pinch of salt
- One pat of regular butter
- Roll of thin, store bought pie crust
Make the filling…
- Heat apple butter, sugar, salt and butter on stove for two minutes, stirring throughout.
- Remove from heat, cool slightly. Set aside.
Make the tarts…
- Place dough over bowl upside down to cut pie tart crust (I used a 5 1/2 inch bowl).
- Moisten edges with tiny amount of water (Can use a brush).
- Fill with Apple Butter mixture ( maybe 1 Tbl. Spoon).
- Fold over into half moon shape.
- Use fork to seal edges.
Fry the tarts…
- Put one tablespoon of oil in fry pan On medium to medium high heat. Watch closely.
- Cook until light golden (maybe 2 or 3 minutes).
- Turn over, cook other side.
- Remove from pan.
- Enjoy with regular butter if desired.

Fried Apple Butter Tarts Recipe
Super easy recipe using apple butter, pie crust and just a few other ingredients you probably already have! This is a great way to use up apple butter in the cabinet and makes a great summer or fall dessert (maybe even breakfast!).
Ingredients
